My wife is pregnent and it\'s been three months of her pregnency. We want the baby to born here. What will happen with the baby after the birth ? Will the baby get Canadian Passport (Canadian citizenship) ? And can my wife get any benifit like routin checkups, medicines and the fees of the delivery from the government ? Thank you Raj Sharma

Any person born in Canada on or after February 14, 1977, regardless of the nationalities of the parents, acquires Canadian citizenship, except for children born to a parent who is a diplomatic or consular officer or other representative or employee of a foreign government in Canada; or an officer or employee in Canada of a specialized agency of the United Nations or an officer or employee in Canada of any other international organization to whom they are granted, by or any other Act of Parliament, diplomatic privileges and immunities.

if the parents are simple tourists in Canada, the child is probably entitled to Canadian citizenship, plus whatever other citizenship(s) he might be entitled to from one or both parents. Parents may be able to extend their visa .
