No applications for Parents and grandparent immigration in Canada

CIC has stopped accepting immigration applications for sponsored parents and grandparents for 2 years. Canada is trying to reduce the backlog of 165,000 cases and wait times of up to seven years for previously sponsored parents and grandparents. As per current timeline it takes around 7 years for sponsored parents or grandparents to land in Canada.
But temporary visa for them has been increased to 10-year. The multiple-entry “Parent and Grandparent Super Visa” will allow holders who qualify to live in Canada for 2 years without a need for renewal.
